Perforated Baler
Case Study
Challenge
A client came to us with a unique scenario
Details
Industry: Local Authority
Location: United Kingdom
Machine Needed: Horizontal Baler
A local authority in the UK which had seen its volumes of both PET and cardboard requiring to be baled increase, required a solution for baling both but within a very limited space.
Solution
A horizontal baler fitted with a traversing bottle piercer
The solution was to provide a horizontal baler fitted with a traversing bottle piercer that when not in use for perforation of the PET bottles could be moved hydraulically to one side to allow the hopper to be used for baling cardboard and other materials. The baler was also fitted with safety screens to prevent entanglement in the rail holding the traversing perforation unit providing a safe interface for both the operator and the general public.
What
was the
result?
The result was one machine which provided a dual function without taking up valuable footprint, a cleaner working environment for the operators, increased bale weights in both PET and cardboard in turn increasing the revenue received by the local authority from its waste stream.
